Tavin and Masterson open talent placement business
Two stock photo industry stand-outs, Jerry Tavin, former owner of Nonstock, and Michael Masterson, longtime veteran of Workbook and Workbook Stock, have joined forces to open an executive placement business for stock image companies, corporate and publishing clients and advertising agencies and design consultancies. The business will be a division of the executive search firm, Janou Pakter, Inc. (JPI.) which has offices in New York, Paris and Milan. Masterson will open a new office for the company on the west coast.
Both Tavin and Masterson had their career paths diverted by acquisitions. PictureArts bought Tavin's Nonstock in 2004. PictureArts itself was later bought by Jupiterimages the following year. Jupiter would go on to purchase Workbook, where Masterson had worked for nearly 20 years. The new JPI division will leverage Mr. Tavin's and Mr. Masterson's combined years of experience in the photography and stock photography industries to recruit outstanding international talent for stock image companies, corporate and publishing clients and advertising agencies and design consultancies.
Mr. Tavin said, "We are excited about expanding JPI's range of services to include the photography industry and we are delighted that Michael Masterson will head this new division for us. His twenty plus years of working in the stock and photography world will be of great value in sourcing both clients and candidates."
