photolibrary building food archive

photolibrary stocks up on food images

photolibrary, owner of the Fresh Food Images (FFI) brand of food and drink images, has added three more food image collections to its archives; CEPHAS, FoodandDrink Photos and Photos Cuisine.  FFI already represents the Anthony Blake Food Library from the UK.  The addition of the three newly added collections brings photolibrary’s FFI database to over 300,000 images.

The CEPHAS Collection consists primarily of wine and vineyard imagery by photographer Mick Rock.  FoodandDrink covers more general subjects including raw ingredients, cooked dishes and drinks. Photos Cuisine, founded by French culinary photographers Pierre Hussenot in 2000 brings a continental style of food presentation to the archive.

The move by photolibrary follows a pattern by the company of diversifying its offerings to cover both general and specialized subjects available under various licensing models. In addition to FFI, the company carries the Oxford Science Library, Garden Picture Library, Monsoon Images, a collection of fine art photography.  The company also owns the subscription service, IndexOpen.
