Maine Photographic Workshops offering stock photography class taught by Paul Henning
Paul Henning a veteran in the Stock photo industry who currently operates the consultancy Stock Answers LLC has been tapped by the Maine Photographic Workshops to teach an in-depth class on stock photography taking place on June 15 – 21, 2008. The week-long course entitled “Stock Photography: Essentials for Making Money With Your Camera” will survey the process of creating, marketing and selling stock imagery. Henning intends to provide students with an intensive submersion into both the business and creative sides of stock photography, as well as the history and evolution of today’s $2 billion global stock picture industry.
Henning brings a wealth of experience to the classroom having been a former location photographer and stock agency owner/director. He also served as Manager of European Operations for the Comstock stock picture agency, before founding his current business Stock Answers, a consultancy for stock photographers and picture libraries. “I’ve been aware of the Maine Photographic Workshops’ reputation as an outstanding venue for learning for many, many years,” says Henning, “so I’m really thrilled to now be associated with them. My workshop will be very instructive, but it’ll also be informal, fun and even a bit entertaining. And, of course, to do all that in the physically awesome natural surroundings of Rockport, Maine will make it an extra-special week!”
The week-long session will help photographers develop strategies for successfully converting their personal shooting skills and interests into profitable stock picture sales. The class will look at changing stock image styles, delve into how and where to find picture buyers and examine the multitude of options for marketing stock photos. Participants will develop goals and plans for picture production, as well as complete several stock shooting “assignments.” So, class time will be divided three ways: “skull time” in the classroom, shooting stock picture “assignments” and then critiquing the results of those assignments.
Space is limited to just fourteen participants, interested parties may sign up now by going to the Maine Workshops website below.
