Keywording.com develops method for converting captions into relevant keywordsKeywording.com, a Portland Oregon based firm that specializes in keywording images for stock agencies and independent artists, has announced that it has developed a method to efficiently convert photograph captions into relevant keywords. The process was developed by the company’s managing Director Kirsti O’Sullivan, in response to a growing demand get images to market faster and at less cost. “Most photographs will have a caption. We can take that caption and jump-start you towards great keywords at a very reasonable price,” states O’Sullivan.

The service is priced starting at $0.50 USD per image and once keywords are generated from the caption the company also adds synonyms and tenses so that an image with a word such as ‘woman’ will also be found when a potential buyer searches for ‘women’, ‘lady’ or ‘female’.

“The genesis for this new service offering came from a need to accommodate Alamy’s keywording changes last fall,” according to O’Sullivan. “Given Alamy’s new keywording requirements, this service can easily provide Alamy’s contributors with ‘Essential Keywords’ at a low cost.”

“It’s not a substitute for a thorough keywording job,” according to Elaine Waller, Director of Client Services, “but it’s an inexpensive solution that opens the door to more sales opportunities.”
