Getty launches music search tool Soundtrack
Having acquired the digital music licensing company Pump Audio back in June of this year, Getty Images has launched the service on its own flagship web-site, GettyImages.com. Users can now access Pump Audio’s 20,000+ original sound tracks with an easy-to-use search tool called Soundtrack.
The Soundtrack search engine allows users to choose a genre of music and then listen to tracks, one at a time. Jonathan Klein, Getty CEO, said “When we acquired Pump Audio in June, we made a commitment to develop dynamic and nimble new music platforms and tools which meet the growing content needs of our customers.” The Soundtrack tool achieves that goal, allowing clients to zero in on just the mood they wish to create with a music track.
The company says Pump Audio artists are being appropriately recognized and compensated for their work. Getty plans to expand its music platform to create new revenue and promotional opportunities for every tier of music owner. In addition, the company will soon expand its music offering to include branded music from major labels and publishers.
