Tomasz Trojanowski of Sosnowiec, Poland, has won a trip to Maui, Hawaii, to participate in a workshop given by veteran stock shooter Ron Chapple.  The micro-stock company, Dreamstime, held the contest among hundreds of its leading contributors for the all-expenses-paid learning experience.  Trojanowski has been a Dreamstime contributor since 2004 and has submitted an average of 80 images per month since joining.

Dreamstime selected eligible photographers for the contest based upon the photographer’s history of successful assignment participation and submissions, correlated with total sales within their portfolio.  The company chose the winner from among entrants who participate in three “assignments” posted on their site.  The company holds periodic assignment contests in which participants must submit portrayals of a specific subject or concept.

Trojanowski will spend several days learning the tricks of the stock photo trade from one of the most successful photographers in the business.  Subjects covered by the workshop include lighting, techniques for difficult situations such as still life and night shooting, how to work with models, and art-direction for the commercial market.  “Congratulations to Tomasz! I look forward to working with him on location,” said Chapple.  “His already excellent work will add another dimension as we shoot together for a few days in Maui,” he added. “Shooting stock is so much more than just great pictures. Stock is a business and a lifestyle."
