Deadline approaches for Great Outdoors Photo Contest

© Michael Russoff Puerto Viejo Costa Rica following strong storms The Great Outdoors Photo Contest organized jointly by Photo District News and National Geographic Traveler has a deadline of March 15. Entrants have the option, however, of extending the deadline to March 31, for an additional fee of $10. The contest is open to amateurs (entry fee, $12) and professionals ($35).

Contestants are invited to submit imagery covering the following categories:

SCENICS OF THE NATURAL WORLD
OUTDOOR SPORTS AND ACTIVITIES
PARKS (ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD)
ISLANDS AND UNDERWATER
GARDENS

Prizes for professional entrants include professional camera equipment as well as publication of the winning images in PDN’s July issue. The grand prize amateur winner will receive a trip for two to Hawaii. Other prizes will be awarded to category winners.
