age fotostock offers new storage service for stock photo distributors
Six years ago, the Barcelona-based stock photo agency, age fotostock, launched a web-site hosting and marketing service for other stock photo companies called Technological Hosting Platform or THP Photo Services. AGE will now leverage the management of the images on the system by offering THP Photo Storage, an image storage and access system to stock photo companies who do not use the search engine platform service.
Today, sixty stock photo companies run the THP Photo Services search engine on their web-sites. In the process of developing this technology, the company has placed the image files of five million rights-managed and royalty-free images from 243 image collections and 1,300 photographers on its servers. According to Sylvie Cherian, Director of International Sales at age footstock, the service has been launched in response to demand from distributors and suppliers alike. “Before even launching officially we already had a number of distributors already set-up with THP PhotoStorage” she said, “and are presently in discussions to add more very soon.”
Users will pay a monthly fee for the storage service based on the number of images to be accessed.
