Another contributor to the exhibit is Max Alpert, is one of the greatest photographers of the 20th Century.  Alpert, a classic war photographer, risked his life to capture iconic photographs of World War II, including his famous image of Commander Alexei Yeremenko, urging on his men in 1942 shortly before his death. The exhibit tracks Russia from its Revolution through its low and high-points during the Second World War.  It chronicles Russia’s industrial age during the 1930’s, the effects of the Cold War.  Images depicting the collapse of the Soviet Union and the resulting monumental changes in Russian society and politics during the 1990’s and early 2000’s are also included.
