Fotolia to offer micro-payment stock footage
Fotolia, a popular micro-payment stock photography site, has announced that it is expanding its product offering to include stock footage and the agency is now calling for users to begin uploading user-generated video submissions to be licensed as royalty-free video clips at microstock prices. Other micropayment stock archives have taken a similar step to offer footage including iStockphoto and Shutterstock who began in 2006.
“Fotolia has been, for years, one of the world’s most trusted sources for high-quality, low-priced, legal imagery and illustration,” explains Oleg Tscheltzoff, co-founder and president of Fotolia, LLC. “In response to an overwhelming demand, Fotolia is announcing a call for video submissions. We are seeking thousands of videographers from around the world who would like to sell their footage and make money through their videography passion.”
The company has stated plans to accept a wide variety of content submissions – from animation and stop motion to digital film and traditional video. Submissions should be 320 X 240 to 1920 X 1080, 24 - 30 frames per second, and 5 - 60 seconds long. The company hopes to begin marketing the collection in mid-February for as little as $10 per clip.
