StockFood sponsors Fab Futures Award for young designers
StockFood a niche stock photography companybased in Kennebunk Maine and specializing in Food and Beverage imagery, has announced that it is once again sponsoring the “FAB Futures Award” as part of an international Creative Awards program focused entirely on creative work done for Food And Beverage brands. The “FAB Futures Award” is for designers aged 30 or under, who are challenged to create a promotional campaign for a fictitious food or beverage brand, using an image from the StockFood collection.
According to StockFood’s CEO Pete A. Eising “Professional designers and creatives from all over the world have been working with our images of food, beverage, wellbeing & styling for thirty years. During this time, our ever growing archive has evolved into an important archive for marketing and advertising professionals. Our FAB Futures Award is specially aimed at those young talents who’ll be the new generation of leaders in the profession. Promoting new blood means a lot to us.“
The Award will be presented at the 11th International FAB Award ceremony on May 22nd 2009, at the illustrious Hurlingham Club, London, UK, where the winner will be announced. All shortlisted nominees will be invited to the Awards Dinner in London, free of charge. The winner’s travel and hotel costs will also be covered by StockFood. Entries for the Award must be in by March 31 2009.

This contest is highly prejudicial, allowing people only 30 & under excludes all others. There seems to be a belief that creativity is exclusively for the young. I wonder what Pablo Picasso or Salvadore Dali would have though of this? A better solution would be to let all compete and let the results speak for themselves. j
