October in NYC: Multiple stock licensing industry events
Two popular annual photo industry events will take place in New York City in October; the Photo Plus Expo and the Picture Archive Council of America (PACA) International Conference. Thousands of industry professionals from camera and imaging software manufacturers to will photographers, reps and image licensing companies will participate in Photo Plus while stock photo companies from around the globe will attend the PACA event . Some of our readers may not know, however, of two other important industry-related events taking place in the Big Apple in October: a State-of-the-Industry forum discussion exclusively for photographers and stock image producers and the PictureHouse Picture Buyer Fair, exclusively for photo-buyers.
Both the events are timed to allow potential participants in Photo Plus and PACA to join them while they’re in town. Stockpros, an active listserve group of 45 worldwide stock photographers and producers, is hosting a forum discussion entitled ‘State of the Stock Industry: View from the Trenches’ on Monday, Oct 20, 9:00am-5:00pm, in NYC at Getty Images (200 Hudson Street, 2nd Floor, NYC, 10013). Jack Hollingsworth and Shalom Ormsby, two well-known and well-respected stock photographers, will moderate the conversation. The content of the meeting will focus on coping strategies for stock photographers - how to both survive and thrive in this shifting landscape. For both macro and micro shooters. The participation fee of $40 per head (paid in cash at the door) will cover a light breakfast, sandwich lunch and beverages. Space is limited, to reserve a spot or for more information, please contact Jack Hollingsworth at
