Dreamstime translated to six new languages
Dreamstime, considered one of the largest micro-stock companies after Getty Images’ iStockphoto, has announced the beta launch of its web-site in six languages. Speakers of Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, German or Portuguese can now search Dreamstime’s database of over 3MM images in their own languages. The move provides further evidence of the continued explosive growth in demand for stock imagery at micro-stock prices world-wide.
CEO and co-founder Serban Enache says the move is geared toward sales, rather than content contribution. “We noticed that over 40% of traffic was from non-English countries. That is significant considering we were English only. The languages we’ve chosen to launch today follow the pattern of traffic combined with market potential (buyers-oriented). What we expect is to double our traffic until the end of the year.” Contributors to the site will still upload in English.
To put the idea of doubling traffic to Dreamstime in perspective, the company says the number of users of the site now exceeds 60,000 monthly and it serves a world-wide customer base of over 750,000.
