Thought Equity Motion to license stock music clips
Thought Equity Motion (TEM,) the motion content licensing and management business based in Denver, has added a music licensing component to its web-site. The new music offering includes exclusive Rights Managed music clips, Royalty Free music clips and a selection of RF sound effects and loops. Prices for the Royalty Free music range from $29 to $59 for tracks of varying duration from 12 seconds to approximately four minutes. Short sound effect loops go for $9.
The company sees music licensing as a logical add-on to its motion and film licensing business serving in the growing demand for motion content in traditional motion outlets and especially in new media. According to research firm eMarketer, online advertising spending will reach approximately 25.8 billion in 2008, with an annual expansion approaching 16-17% through the year 2012. The explosion of new media provides the company the opportunity to leverage its existing customer base and build market share based on the ever-growing increasing demand for music access. TEM adds that recently eMarketer also predicted the market for music “synch” rights, (which allow the synchronization of music with video for a finished product) will climb high as to $2.5 billion by 2011.
TEM CEO Kevin Schaff says “Music and motion go hand-in-hand. Enhancing our content offering with music just makes sense. […] Streamlining the entire music search and licensing process to enable quick, easy and cost-effective creation of soundtracks […] satisfies a wish list item for current customers […]”
