James Alexander joins Jupiterimages
Jupitermedia has announced the appointment of James Alexander to the position of Senior Vice President and General manager of Jupiterimages. Alexander comes to Jupiter from Adobe where he led the now discontinued Adobe Stock Photos (ASP) division. He will work at Jupiter’s head offices in Darien, Connecticut and will report directly to Jupitermedia President and COO, Chris Cardell.
Adobe had hoped to leverage its access to the graphic design community through ASP by adding a stock image feature to its flagship software, Photoshop. The effort failed to gain traction with Photoshop users, however, and after several years of effort and investment in ASP, the company called it quits, earlier this year. The winding-down of ASP will be completed by next month. Prior to his tenure at Adobe, Alexander held the positions of CEO at Mibrary, Inc. and President at eWatch Inc.
Through his work over the last four years with Adobe Stock Photos, Alexander has developed contacts with most of the stock photo industry. Cardell says, "James has had both an entrepreneurial background and extensive operational experience running business units at Adobe for several years. He has extensive knowledge of the stock image business and has built up many industry relationships during his time at Adobe," stated Christopher S. Cardell, President and COO of Jupitermedia Corporation.
