Red Cover launches royalty free stock photography collection
The London-based specialty stock library, Red Cover, known for its rights-managed archives of interiors, gardens lifestyle and food, has launched a royalty-free collection of the same subjects. Sally Griffiths, an editor, journalist and writer for prominent interior design and garden magazines in the UK, founded Red Cover in 2000. The boutique agency has gained a reputation for the high quality imagery Griffiths has compiled from the many professional photographers she worked with in the magazine business. The agency serves both the editorial and commercial markets.
The introduction of Red Cover’s Royalty Free collection represents another step in the company’s ongoing expansion. Last year, Mark Bezodis, formerly of Mary Evans Picture Library and Lonely Planet Images, became managing director at Red Cover allowing Griffiths to focus on the creative management. Since then, Red Cover signed a partnership agreement with Getty Images for its RM Collection and is in the process of establishing a world-wide distribution network of over 70 agents. Within the next month, the company will launch its own e-commerce site as well as a new business called Red Cover Prints, selling high quality print reproductions of its images. The company now employs twenty full- and part-time workers.
Before founding Red Cover, Griffiths was contributing features editor at House & Garden in the UK and her work was featured regularly in prestigious publications such as Architectural Digest, Homes & Gardens and Vogue Living. She is also the author of several books including The English County House, Batchelor Style and Nina Campbell on Decorating.
