iStockphoto extends deal to offer free stock images to Microsoft Office users
Getty Image’s micro-payment site, iStockphoto, has announced that it is extending a program where a collection of low-res images and illustrations are made available for free through Microsoft Office Online. In addidtion, iStockphoto has stated plans to significantly increase the number of free images offered and the companies are looking to expand the program to new languages and countries in the coming year. The free image offering also includes a link to the iStockphoto site where users can license additional images.
“Customer response to the quality of the images we put at their fingertips has been extremely positive,” said Christopher Mascis, business development manager for Microsoft Office Online. “iStockphoto is helping us provide Microsoft Office Online users with free, high quality images to make their Microsoft Office documents more professional and effective. It’s great to see how enthusiastically our customers are responding to the value offered by iStockphoto. The bar is constantly being raised.”
“Being a Microsoft Office Online content provider has generated a lot of excitement with iStockphoto contributors and it has greatly accelerated iStock’s profile with several new types of users, many of whom have not used micropayment stock images before,” said Garth Johnson, vice president of business and community development. “Since we began offering imagery on the Microsoft Office site, tens of thousands of Microsoft Office users have signed up to access our 2.6 million image collection and take full advantage of all we have to offer.”
