ASPP NY Film Series presents: The Photographer, His Wife, Her Lover
As part of its ongoing film series, the American Society of Picture Professionals (ASPP) New York Chapter is presenting the film: The Photographer, His Wife, Her Lover, a fascinating documentary from director Paul Yule chronicling the life of photographer O. Winston Link, who was known for his lovely black-and-white pictures of America’s steam trains.
At the age of 73, Link married the 48 y/o Conchita Mendoza who successfully marketed his photographs for increasing profit while becoming sexually entangled with another man – all the time keeping Link captive in his basement darkroom. Paul Yule’s film is a fascinating investigation into personality, crime, marriage, contemporary art, and the ever-malleable nature of truth.
The film will be screened on February 7, 2008
