Newscom now offering broadcast quality news footage from Reuters
Newscom, a leading provider of text and visual content, has announced that it is now offering its subscribers online access to broadcast quality video from the international news agency Reuters making this the first major news agency to offer broadcast quality breaking news footage online in the U.S.
The video will be offered in at newscom.com in a section called the 'Reuters Video Resource Center' where users will have access to more than 13,000 clips including breaking news, human interest, sports and entertainment footage from around the globe, plus regional stories from Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East and the Americas. More than 125 new stories are added daily, available in MPEG2/full broadcast quality, and web formats Real, Flash and Windows Media in both 300k and 700k resolution.
"Newscom already manages a collection of more than 20 million items, including still photos, illustrations, text and graphics," said Newscom Managing Director Bill Creighton. "But we've seen an ever-growing demand for video content from our clients. The addition of Reuters video deepens our commitment to offer our customers everything they need for their online publications and broadcast productions."
