Corbis launches U.S. election microsite to serve political advertisers and news media
Seattle based Corbis, has released a new microsite featuring imagery associated with the 2008 US election in an effort to cater to all of the media coverage and advertising typical in a major election year. According to research mentioned in a recent press release Corbis is expecting political ad spending for the 2008 election to exceed $3 billion, an increase of more than 75 percent from the last Presidential election year in 2004.
The new microsite located at http://pro.corbis.com/creative/politics will feature both rights managed (RM) and royalty-free (RF) imagery and footage. The site will be updated frequently with relevant imagery selected by the Corbis’ Creative Intelligence team.
“Every year elections are more targeted and political consultants need to be able to quickly crank out fresh, demographically-specific communications,” said Peter Moran, Chief Operating Officer at Winning Directions, a political direct mail firm and member of the American Association of Political Consultants. “Corbis has a great collection of political imagery that is simple and easy to use, and we rely on them not just for images, but as a creative partner to help us create the most effective direct-mail communications in the business and winning campaigns for our clients.”
