New site launched for Hispanic and ethnic stock photography at HispanicShots.com
A new source for Hispanic stock photography has launched at HispanicShots.com. The site was created and developed by Michele Cordoba, an independent marketing consultant, in response to a void she perceived throughout her 18 years of experience in Hispanic advertising and marketing including positions at Spanish language newspaper La Opinion, Telemundo network affiliate KVEA-TV, and Univision flagship station KMEX-TV. With its concentration exclusively on Hispanic images, HispanicShots.com includes images arranged into six main categories; Home & Family, Business & technology, Financial & Retail, Sports & Recreation, Entertainment, and Health & Beauty, with a total offering of more than 400 wholly-owned images.
“I actually got the idea for HispanicShots.com a few years ago, after a desperate search for a health-care related shot of a Latino family that I needed for a new business presentation. I had been looking for weeks for something even remotely relevant, and could find nothing. I finally had to create the shot myself, calling in favors from a photographer friend, and using my husband and my best friend’s baby daughter as talent. It was then that I realized there was an unmet need for Hispanic stock photography specifically designed to meet the needs of advertisers.” Ms. Cordoba commented when asked about the inspiration behind the business. “I also know from experience that while ‘traditional’ Hispanic images are important (large, multigenerational families, for example), we also need to offer less traditional settings and situations, as Hispanics become more of a part of ‘mainstream’ American life. That’s why we offer images of young couples at home, businessmen working on their computer, and friends watching TV. Our images reflect today’s Hispanic consumer, which is what advertisers need to create relevant and motivating campaigns. “
Cordoba has high hopes for Hispanicshots.com and is focused on growing the collection throughout the year as well as possible expansion into custom photography and stock footage. All images are currently offered exclusively through HispanicShots.com at high resolution (approx 12 Mega Pixel) with a royalty free license. The standard price is $350 per image.
