Can you hear the music coming from Jupiter?
JupiterImages has acquired StudioCutz, BlueFuseMusic, and other music sites
It’s no secret that Jupiter Media is trying the become the multimedia designer’s best friend with a strategy based on the idea that designers need more than just still images to communicate in an interactive environment. With that in mind, Jupiter has spent the last year building up a music offering to better serve the current and future needs of its customers. Yesterday Jupiter announced that it has acquired the assets of Studiocutz.com, BlueFuseMusic.com, and a few other music sites from Mediatone Music. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
This transaction gives Jupiter its first Rights-Managed (RM) music collection at BlueFuseMusic.com and also includes the assets of NoiseFuel.com, and MediaMusicLoops.com. All-together this purchase gives Jupiter more than 2,600 wholly-owned music tracks and 5,500 sound effects to bolster its growing collection. To date Jupiter has acquired the following additional music collections; RoyaltyFreeMusic.com (Aug 06), Steve Shapiro Music Library (Apr 06), Crank City Music (Mar 06), and BBM.net (Dec 05).
“The deal for StudioCutz and its various music assets takes Jupitermedia to another level in providing a world-class Royalty Free Music library.” stated Jupiter’s CEO Alan Meckler on his blog. “Our move into music will culminate with a new subscription offering in coming months. The RF music market place will soon have the first large-scale subscription offering to go with our present business of offering tracks on a pay-per-download basis or on CDs.”
