WireImage makes deal with Variety and opens Amsterdam office
The news, entertainment and sports agency, WireImage, part of MediaVast, Inc., has signed a multi-year partnership with entertainment industry news magazine publisher, Variety Group. Through the deal, WireImage will provide Variety with photographs for its numerous print publications, including Daily Variety, Weekly Variety, Daily Variety Gotham, Variety China, and the web-site, Variety.com. In addition, WireImage will now market Variety’s wholly-owned image collection through its offices world-wide and its web-site, www.wireimage.com.
In a related story, WireImage has opened a new office in Amsterdam. Armand Hagens, who formerly worked as an account executive and researcher at Stock Market/Corbis, will run the Dutch office. He will report directly to James Claydon, who oversees European Operations out of MediaVast’s UK office in London. The Amsterdam office will meet the local demand for Hollywood imagery as well as for imagery of Dutch sports, entertainment and political celebrities.
The opening of this new office brings to twelve the number of wholly-owned offices WireImage now operates. In addition to the new office in Amsterdam, the agency now has offices in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Atlanta, Las Vegas, London, Hamburg, Tokyo, Shanghai, Sydney and Madrid.
