Jupiter Media launches bITa PlanetJupiterMedia has announced the launch of a web-site and conference dedicated to Information Technology and how businesses use it to further their company objectives. The web-site, www.bITaPlanet.com, will focus on business IT alignment news and analysis. The bITa USA 2007 Conference (www.bITausa.com) will take place in Boston at the Seaport Hotel and Conference Center on May 21-22, 2007.

According to a press-release issued by the company,  “bITaPlanet.com and the bITa USA 2007 Conference cover the emerging field of business IT alignment to help senior IT managers keep their technology working toward their company's business objectives. As IT has become an integral part of the enterprise, it has become clear there is a need for business IT alignment strategies to ensure that technology is used to support, and not disrupt, ongoing business goals. Among the topics that will be covered: compliance, Sarbanes-Oxley, IT governance, ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) and business optimization.”

The move is in keeping with Alan Meckler’s promise made during his 3Q conference call with analysts to give more attention to the Online Media segment of the company, a segment management admittedly hadn’t paid much attention to in recent years.  The announcement of the conference also marks a return for Meckler to a business with which he has had great success in years past.

Jupiter will produce the conference in partnership with bITa Center, a Dutch company that hosts events and offers training and consulting in the area of business use of information technology.
