Lonely Planet appoints Mark Bezodis as Business Development Manager

Mark Bezodis is moving to Lonely PlanetLonely Planet Images, the image library for Lonely Planet Publications, has appointed Mark Bezodis to the position of Business Development Manager for Lonely Planet Images, responsible for sales across the EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) business. Mark Bezodis joins Lonely Planet from Mary Evans Picture Library, which recently appointed Paul Brown (from Rex Features) to the post of managing director.


In his time as Sales & Marketing Manager at Mary Evans, Mark Bezodis set up a sales team, increased the international agent network from 3 – 20 agents, brokered a contract with the world’s leading online poster supplier and became an Executive committee member of BAPLA (British Association of Picture Libraries and Agents). Prior to Mary Evans, Mark worked in advertising sales roles at Future Publishing and EMAP.

Lonely Planet’s EMEA Commercial Director Nathan Clapton says of the appointment: “With the launch of the new Lonely Planet Images website in January, it is an exciting time for Mark to be joining us. Mark brings the proven commercial skills which will help us capitalise on the site launch, build stronger relationships with our editorial and commercial customers, seek out new revenue channels and drive business in continental Europe.”
