PictureHouse breaks record in NYC
The annual picture buyers fair in New York City held by Picturehouse Marketing Ltd of the UK took place this year on November 1st in the Puck Building in downtown Manhattan. By all measurements, the event, at which licensors of stock photography and stock footage display their offerings to art-buyers, designers and other users of stock imagery, was a huge success.
The 6th annual Picturehouse attracted over 700 visitors from as far away as England, California, Oregon, Florida, Washington who included personnel from a wide range of advertising agencies, design firms, publishing companies and magazines. The visitors got to meet representatives of over 100 stock photo and stock footage suppliers. Visitors were treated to excellent food and drink and chances to win a host of door-prizes from Jet-Blue gift certificates to digital cameras. The following quotations from attendees of the event capture the positive spirit of the event:
“As always, it's great to see the faces that go along with the voices. If you want to know the "who's who" of stock photography, this event truly represents the industry as a whole.” - Jim English from Doremus
“Overall it is a wonderful informative event and a great opportunity to personalize the often e-mail or phone communications between researchers/designers and agencies. It is done in elegant, generous style. Thank you!” - Susan Shapiro, Freelancer
“Congenial atmosphere to meet regular suppliers of images as well as make new contacts for future use. Suppliers of moving images was a nice addition as publishers are able to now use footage in their products.” – Neil Hoos from W.W. Norton
Next year’s Picturehouse will take place again at the Puck building, on Wednesday, October 24th.
