Photolibrary acquires Anthony Blake Photo Library
After acquiring Monsoon Images in the US in April of this year, and opening new offices in India, the Sydney-based stock photo company, Photolibrary, has continued its aggressive global expansion by making another key acquisition, this time of the UK’s leading food and drink image agency, the Anthony Blake Photo Library (ABPL.) ABPL’s archive holds over 200,000 rights managed images representing the work of 100 photographers. The collection covers every aspect of food imagery, “from fast food to Haute cuisine, from paddy fields to supermarkets,” according to the company press-release about the acquisition.
Glenn Parker, Photolibrary Group CEO, says: “ABPL is another unique addition to our group. The freshness of the imagery and the passion with which the collection has been put together sets it apart and Photolibrary Group are excited to be able to offer our customers this incredible range of modern, unique photography.”
The company has no immediate plans to close ABPL’s southwest London offices, but will, over time, merge that office with Photolibrary’s main London office. The eight ABPL employees join Photolibrary’s forty UK employees, and bring the total number of employees at the company to eighty-eight world-wide. In addition to its Australia, UK, India and US presence, Photolibrary has offices in Malaysia, the Philippines, New Zealand, Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates.
