Jupiter acquires Steve Shapiro Music

JupiterImages has announced the acquisition of certain assets of Steve Shapiro Music, a wholly owned royalty-free music collection offering moods, themes and instrumentation ranging from hip-hop to classical styles. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.  The acquisition adds yet another off-beat (!) content collection to Jupiter’s growing and varied repertoire (!) of digital content.  Jupiter clearly intends to take a dominating position in the RF sound and music space having acquired Crank City Music in March 2006 and BBM.net in December 2005.  Says Jupiter CEO, Alan Meckler, "Steve Shapiro, founder of Steve Shapiro Music, will continue to work with Jupitermedia on a consulting basis as we build out a world class royalty-free music distribution operation.
