Picture fairs in London Paris and Hamburg
For those interested in reaching potential new customers in Europe there are several picture fairs in various European capitals scheduled in the month of May to connect stock photo buyers and sellers. These fairs are typically attended by serious image buyers looking for new sources for images, and photo buyers looking to meet the people they work with on a regular basis.
BAPLA is hosting its annual Picture Buyers Fair in London at the Business Design Centre. BAPLA (the British Association of Picture Libraries and Agencies) is a trade organization representing more than 80% of the UK's picture libraries and agencies. In 2005 this show was attended by more than 2700 visitors, with book and magazine publishing, design, advertising and freelance picture researchers making up the greatest image buying sectors present at the show. Paris – May 15th Picturehouse
Picturehouse was launched jointly in London and New York in 2001 and has become an important show for those looking to reach image buyers. The next show in Paris will be held at Macéo restaurant, a frogs leap from the Palais Royal gardens. Picturehouse now has shows planned in quite a few major cities including Paris, New York, Chicago, London, Las Vegas, Hamburg, Dubai, Milan, Dublin, Sydney, Etc… Click here for more information.
In 2006 the PICTA Picture Agency Fair will coincide with the marketing services fair in cooperation with the German Association of Picture Agencies and Archives, BVPA. Last year over 2000 visitors attended PICTA 2005 along with 77 exhibitors. This year the show is connected directly with the marketing services fair which attracts additional marketing professionals and the BVPA expects a few thousand more visitors. 8,000 people attended the marketing services fair two years ago.
