NewsCom launches RSS feeds
By Brent Phelps April 04, 2006
NewsCom, a leading provider of images and stories to the global publishing community, has launched RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds in order to deliver content (news stories and images) directly to the customers desktop. This allows Newscom to push out content to the customer rather than wait for the customer to visit the site. Customers can subscribe to view content based on specific topics they are interested in – such as Academy Awards fashion, lifestyle tips & trends, the NCAA Championship or Word Cup Soccer, for example – from a directory of hundreds of well-defined categories.
Customers can use any RSS reader (My Yahoo, Newsgator, Bloglines, Etc…) to receive and view the content including an RSS reader built into the Adobe Bridge software. The content supplied will include full-length text features, crossword puzzles, editorial cartoons, and photos from various sources including

Bill Creighton, general manager of NewsCom. “Not only do editors have an improved resource with which to work, it's one more way for NewsCom to alert our users to the content they seek, eliminating the need to spend time searching across different websites for the appropriate content. NewsCom is committed to finding new ways to help our customers become more productive. We believe RSS integration into their workflow is an excellent start.”
