Fratelli Alinari and Roger Viollet, two historic archives, go digital

The Italian company Fratelli Alinari has occupied the same buildings in Florence since 1863.  The Roger Viollet archive resides in an office in Paris it has occupied since 1938.  Now, researchers can delve into both archives on-line (English language) through the web-site of the UK-based company, Topfoto.  Topfoto , managed by CEPIC President Alan Smith, is the modern incarnation of Topham Picturepoint, an archival company founded in 1927.  Click here to view Topfoto website.
