Louette appointed AFP president
Pierre Louette (42) has been selected as the new president of the Agence France-Presse (AFP). The board of directors in Paris has unanimously voted to appoint Louette as the successor of Bertrand Eveno (61), who resigned last month citing personal reasons. Louette was previously a managing director and executive vice-president of the Agence France-Presse. The French enterprise, established in 1835, is considered to be the oldest international press agency. Beside photos and films it offers news wire services in six languages. According to its records, AFP currently employs approximately 2,100 employees, and 250 photographers, in 118 offices world-wide. Stefan
