ISIA gaining momentum
Recently a new industry trade association launched called the International Stock Imagery Association (ISIA). From the very beginning this new organization has set itself apart from other industry trade organizations as it seeks to be more inclusive than many of the other trade organizations serving this industry allowing anyone to join and the fact that it has supported itself entirely through the volunteer efforts of individual members. That means that no one has been charged a dime and no monies have been spent to fund the organization. ISIA has recently launched a brand new website (created entirely by volunteer efforts) click here to review the site.
ISIA has published the following Mission and Goals.
I.S.I.A. is an international industry association that represents the needs and provides resources for its individual members involved as professionals in the many fields that are involved in the capture, production and distribution of stock imagery.
I.S.I.A. seeks to create an environment for communications and the delivery of resources that are conducive to the continued development and maintenance of ethical, professional standards and practices based upon respect for the individual.
I.S.I.A. is an association based upon inclusivity, wherein its members views may be expressed and received with respect, regardless of age, income, experience, or industry affiliations whether with other associations, channels of distribution or any areas of personal or professional involvement.
To accomplish our goals I.S.I.A. stresses individual member participation and the development of services and resources.

Thank you Brent for the article on ISIA. True, everything you see at http://www.isiaonline.org has been entirely created through the efforts of volunteers like myself along with the suggestions and input of many throughout the stock imagery industry.
At this time we also have an agency database that we are developing that we expect will be the most complete, feature rich and objective agency guide anywhere. We also soon will have a special page with several sized logos and the html code for members to copy and link back to ISIAonline.
We are all very pleased with the response we have received in this, our first week after going live with the site and our membership continues to grow. We have already attracted many industry heavy-weights as well as individuals from almost every corner of the globe involved in practically every aspect of the stock imagery industry.

An excellent article..and you could not have selected a more appropriate title than, “I.S.I.A. Gaining Momentum” as with each passing day that momentum is increasing around the globe. After little more than a week our membership already represents those from throughout the USA, across the UK, and many, many others from Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Portugal, Denmark, Romania, Canada, Norway, Greece, Israel, Singapore, Japan, and India! Too, your emphasis of the simple fact that I.S.I.A. exists to address the needs of our individual members...whoever they may be, whatever the niche of the industry they work in, and wherever they may live and work...rather than increasing our treasury is RIGHT ON. We greatly appreciate the wonderful support of everyone, in every facet of the industry and the industry news who have so graciously followed our efforts.
