PACA goes to Vegas
The Picture Archive Council of America’s 2007 International Conference will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada, this year from Sunday evening, October 28th to Tuesday evening, October 30th. Keynote speaker, Michael Rogers will kick off the event with a presentation titled “How Media and Technology Affect Our Culture and Specifically Our Industry.” One of the nation's leading experts on the impact of technology on business and society, Rogers is Futurist-in-Residence for The New York Times Company, as well an interactive media pioneer, novelist and journalist. He also writes the popular "Practical Futurist" column for MSNBC.
Other highlights of the Conference program include a re-visiting of the industry press panel from PACA’s annual meeting in May, the always popular art-buyer’s panel, and an agency panel discussion on “Emerging Markets and Survival in Today’s Business Climate.” As always, the venue, the Rio All-Suites Hotel and Casino, will accommodate private meetings and plenty of networking opportunity. Located right in the heart of the Las Vegas strip, it also affords the opportunity for visitors to explore one of the world’s most unique cities.
For several years, Las Vegas has topped the list of most-requested locations for the conference on the part of past conference attendees. The organizers offer a discount for early registration which ends today, July 31.
